StemMap exists because building these maps by hand is the slowest part of a Stems & Branches practice — and it shouldn't be.
The story
StemMap started as a spreadsheet — 240 maps, painstakingly transcribed from the classical master chart, cross-checked against hand-drawn originals, and indexed by the 1924–2043 date-boundary table. It worked, but it wasn't something you could use with a patient in the room.
So we built a tool around it. The engine is deterministic: every map value is pre-computed and verified, never derived on the fly. What you see on screen is exactly what you'd draw by hand — minus the arithmetic errors.
What StemMap is — and isn't
StemMap is a practitioner reference tool. It renders the constitutional map accurately and quickly. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or replace clinical judgement. It is not patient-facing medical advice.
The method itself — Wǔ Yùn Liù Qì, the Five Movements and Six Qi — is taught across lineages including ICEAM, White Pine Institute, Fengyang, and the Jeffrey Yuen / Joan Duveen traditions. StemMap doesn't teach the method; it removes the mechanical barrier to using it.
