No. StemMap builds the constitutional birth map — the five-element wheel and analysis tables based on your patient's birthdate. It does not calculate open acupoints by day or hour (Zǐ Wǔ Liú Zhù or Líng Guī Bā Fǎ). For timing tools, see chronoacupuncture.com.
Every map is pre-computed from the canonical Stems & Branches master chart and the 1924–2043 date-boundary tables, then verified against hand-drawn originals. There are 240 maps in total — one for each half-year in the 120-year range. The tool performs a lookup, not a live calculation, so the values you see are exactly the values in the classical tables.
Yes. StemMap is a reference tool, not a practice-management suite. It doesn't replace Jane, Zanda, or zHealth — it sits alongside them, giving you the constitutional map your practice software doesn't provide.
Yes. A live sample map is on the homepage — no account needed. A free account gives you 3 complete maps a month, and every one is the full map: wheel, inner-energy dots, connecting line and all five analysis tables. Nothing is withheld from a free map.
Saved patients are never deleted. You keep read access to everything you have already saved, and you return to 3 new maps a month. You can export everything at any time from Settings.
BaZi (Four Pillars of Destiny) uses the same stems and branches but derives a personality/destiny chart from the year, month, day, and hour of birth. StemMap uses only the birth year (resolved to the correct half-year) to build the Wǔ Yùn Liù Qì constitutional map used in classical acupuncture. They share roots but serve different purposes.
The Chinese solar year begins at Lì Chūn (立春), the start of spring, which falls around February 4th. Someone born in late January is assigned to the previous year's stem and branch. StemMap handles this automatically using the date-boundary table.
Yes. The Practitioner plan includes print and PDF export. The print stylesheet places the wheel and all tables on a single A4/Letter page, with your clinic name in the header.
